Piedmont is a special place, especially because of its people, tasty cuisine, and first-class wines. The area seems enchanted, especially in autumn, when the sun slowly lifts the morning mists from the valleys. The truffles are also at their best at this time of year. This trip is led by Philipp, founder of our culinary journeys. Get ready to cook and taste great Piedmontese recipes. Buon appetito! Make your way to Pollenzo, about 56 kilometres from Turin. Over dinner in one of the best restaurants in the area with a winemaker family, you will get to know your fellow travellers and try authentic Piedmontese cuisine.

Barolo and cooking class
Biodynamic Barolo farm
Cooking Class with a Chef
Banca del Vino
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Learn the secrets of Piedmontese cuisine
After a varied breakfast at the hotel, with cappuccino and many sweets as well as savoury Slow Food products, you drive to one of the nearby famous wine-growing villages. The short drive offers fantastic views over the vineyard landscape, which has turned yellow and red in November. After a short break at the Belvedere, you will visit a biodynamic Barolo winemaker, where you will get a detailed explanation of the work in the vineyard and cellar, before heading to the tasting.
At noon, you are in Serralunga d'Alba, in a small restaurant below the Castello.
In the afternoon you will have some free time for a break and, if you wish, a visit to the Banca del Vino. The wines of about 300 of the best Italian winegrowers are stored in the wine bank, under perfect conditions.
In the early evening, you will drive to one of the best cooking schools in the region, in Turin. With the chef of the school, you will prepare four traditional dishes at professional stations, which you will then enjoy together in the wonderful rooms of the school. The famous tajarin (fresh, very thinly sliced tagliatelle) with a delicious sugo will certainly not be missed!
Relax and enjoy the journey, knowing that our tour guide will assist you at every moment.

Day 3
Hazelnuts and cheesemakers in the Alta Langa
Murazzano DOP with cheese making family
biodiversity Alta Langa
Hazelnut tasting with family
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transportation: Private Bus (1:00h)
Sheep's cheese tasting
Today, you drive towards Liguria into the hilly country of the Alta Langa. At an altitude of 600-800 metres, the hazelnuts thrive particularly well and the many mountain herbs make the cheeses spicy. In the morning, you will visit a dairy farmer and cheese maker family who will show you their production and affinage. At lunch, you will enjoy their grandiose cheese and some other "little things".
In the afternoon, you will visit a family that has been processing hazelnuts for generations. A special cultivar of hazelnut grows in Piedmont, the so-called Tonda Gentile Trilobata, which is considered the most delicious. The story of Ferrero from Alba is also based on this nut. The products are addictive, whether for nibbling, in pasticceria and gelato, or mixed with cocoa as Gianduja cream (the Nutella for adults). Also included is a big helping of the inimitable Piedmontese hospitality and humour.
After an impressive day, you will be driven back to Pollenzo, where you will have a great time in a restaurant along the way.

Today, you will drive to Alba, where you will meet the grappa producer Marolo, one of the best grappa distillers in Italy.
Afterwards, you will stroll through the beautiful old town with its many boutiques, delicatessens, and cafés to a fine little restaurant where you will enjoy your lunch. After another quality Piedmontese lunch, you will have free time in the afternoon for a break at the hotel.
In the afternoon, you will drive towards Barbaresco to visit a small family winery and get to know the little brother of Barolo.
At dusk, you will continue to one of the neighbouring villages, where Carlo will go truffle hunting with you. Mid-November is the best time for the king of truffles, the white Tuber magnatum pico, also known as the Alba truffle. Carlo is a trifulau of the new generation, who attaches great importance to the biodiversity of the Langhe and the preservation of the truffle.
After the search, join Carlo as he delivers the truffles to a nearby restaurant, where a wonderful truffle dinner then awaits.
Truffle hunt: About 2-3 km, 50-100 m difference in altitude uphill and downhill 1-1.5 hours Difficulty: easy Sturdy shoes are recommended

Sylvia
Your guide for this tour
Sylvia observes with concern how human cohesion, time and respect, and attention to food are slowly disappearing, and made it her mission to help producers create awareness and recover people's sensitivity to these topics. Being able to help feast travelers explore the UNESCO world heritage "Mediterranean Diet" together with her team and partners, is a dream come true, as no other region in the world has a similar variety of foods, customs, recipes, and wines. She likes to think that every feast traveler is an ambassador, keeping this intangible heritage alive for further generations to come.

FAQs
Can I cancel my trip?
If the traveller withdraws before the start of the trip or does not start the trip, Ventura loses the right to the travel price. Instead, Ventura may demand reasonable compensation from the traveller. This shall not apply if Ventura is responsible for the cancellation or if unavoidable, extraordinary circumstances occur at the destination or in its immediate vicinity, which significantly impair the performance of the package tour or the transport of persons to the destination; circumstances are unavoidable and extraordinary if they are beyond the control of the party invoking them and their consequences could not have been avoided even if all reasonable precautions had been taken.
Ventura has defined this claim for compensation to which it is entitled in the following cancellation fees. The calculation is made taking into account the time of the cancellation declared by the traveller up to the contractually agreed start of the trip, the expected saving of expenses and the expected acquisition through alternative use of the travel services. The compensation shall be calculated as follows according to the time of receipt of the declaration of cancellation by Ventura or the travel agent:
a) General cancellation fee (as a percentage of the travel price):
For bookings in the CLASSIC fare: up to 65 days before departure 20% from the 64th to 30th day before departure 25% 45% from the 29th to 15th day before departure from the 14th to 7th day before departure 60% from the 6th day before departure 80% 90% on the day of departure and in the event of a no-show
For bookings in the FLEXI fare: up to 65 days before departure 0% from the 64th to the 45th day before departure 10% from the 44th to the 30th day before departure 20% from 29 days before departure, the cancellation fees are identical to those of the CLASSIC rate
b) Special cancellation fee:
Special offers/specials, individually prepared package tours and group tours may be subject to special cancellation conditions, to which explicit reference is made in the respective service description or travel advertisement/offer and the travel confirmation in accordance with Art. 250 §§ 3, 6 EGBGB.
Ventura reserves the right to demand higher, specifically calculated compensation instead of the above cancellation flat rates, insofar as Ventura can prove the occurrence of significantly higher expenses than the applicable cancellation flat rate.
Do I need travel insurance?
We advise you to take out travel cancellation insurance, as it can always happen that you are unable to travel shortly before the departure date due to unforeseen illness, an accident or for other reasons. Repatriation assistance insurance is strongly recommended!
