Piedmont is a special place, especially because of its people, tasty cuisine, and first-class wines. Get ready to cook and taste great Piedmont recipes. Make your way to Pollenzo, about 56 kilometers from Turin. Over dinner in one of the best restaurants in the area with a winemaker family, you will get to know your fellow travelers and try authentic Piedmont cuisine.

Day 2
Barolo and cooking class
Banca del Vino
Cooking Class with a Chef
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Learn the secrets of Piedmontese cuisine
After a varied breakfast at the hotel, with cappuccino and many sweets as well as savoury Slow Food products, you drive to one of the nearby famous wine-growing villages. The short drive offers fantastic views over the vineyard landscape, which has turned yellow and red in November. After a short break at the Belvedere, you will visit a biodynamic Barolo winemaker, where you will get a detailed explanation of the work in the vineyard and cellar, before heading to the tasting.
At noon, you are in Serralunga d'Alba, in a small restaurant below the Castello.
In the afternoon you will have some free time for a break and, if you wish, a visit to the Banca del Vino. The wines of about 300 of the best Italian winegrowers are stored in the wine bank, under perfect conditions.
In the early evening, you will enjoy an authentic cooking class. With the chef of the class, you will prepare traditional dishes, which you will then enjoy together in the wonderful ambiance. The famous tajarin (fresh, very thinly sliced tagliatelle) with a delicious sugo will certainly not be missed!
Relax and enjoy every experience, knowing that our tour guide will assist you at every moment.

Day 3
Hazelnuts and cheesemakers in the Alta Langa
Hazelnut tasting with family
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transportation: Private Bus (1:00h)
Sheep's cheese tasting
Today, you drive towards Liguria into the hilly country of the Alta Langa. At an altitude of 600-800 metres, the hazelnuts thrive particularly well and the many mountain herbs make the cheeses spicy. In the morning, you will visit a dairy farmer and cheese maker family who will show you their production and affinage. At lunch, you will enjoy their grandiose cheese and some other "little things".
In the afternoon, you will visit a family that has been processing hazelnuts for generations. A special cultivar of hazelnut grows in Piedmont, the so-called Tonda Gentile Trilobata, which is considered the most delicious. The story of Ferrero from Alba is also based on this nut. The products are addictive, whether for nibbling, in pasticceria and gelato, or mixed with cocoa as Gianduja cream (the Nutella for adults). Also included is a big helping of the inimitable Piedmont hospitality and humor.
After an impressive day, you will be driven back to Pollenzo, where you will have a great time in a restaurant along the way.

Day 4
Alba, grappa, and truffle hunting
Old Town of Alba
Complete piedmontese truffle dinner
Visit to a Grappa Distillery
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transportation: Private Bus (1:00h), By Foot (2:00h)
Discover the secrets of truffle hunting with Carlo
Today, you will drive to Alba, where you will meet the grappa producer Marolo, one of the best grappa distillers in Italy.
Afterwards, you will stroll through the beautiful old town with its many boutiques, delicatessens, and cafés to a fine little restaurant where you will enjoy your lunch. After another quality Piedmontese lunch, you will have free time in the afternoon for a break at the hotel.
In the afternoon, you will drive towards Barbaresco to visit a small family winery and get to know the little brother of Barolo.
At dusk, you will continue to one of the neighbouring villages, where Carlo will go truffle hunting with you. Mid-November is the best time for the king of truffles, the white Tuber magnatum pico, also known as the Alba truffle. Carlo is a trifulau of the new generation, who attaches great importance to the biodiversity of the Langhe and the preservation of the truffle.
After the search, join Carlo as he delivers the truffles to a nearby restaurant, where a wonderful truffle dinner then awaits.
Truffle hunt:
- distance: About 2-3 km
- time: 1-1.5 hours
- altitude gain: 50-100 m difference in altitude uphill and downhill
- difficulty: easy
(Sturdy shoes are recommended)

For lunch today, head to Turin for a culinary visit to Italy's first capital. Gianduiotti, aperitivo, bicerin—there is much to discover.
Today is also your second cooking class, where you'll get to prepare more traditional dishes and then enjoy them together as a farewell dinner. In one of the most important rice-growing regions in Europe, today will include a Piedmontese risotto, among other dishes. Adriana
Your guide for this tour
Adriana Cattaneo can truly be considered a citizen of the world! Of Italian origins, she was born in Colombia and, due to her father's job, grew up and studied in different places all over the world approaching cultures that combine Latin culture with East and West: Germany, England, Ghana, Malaysia and the Philippines, are just some of the places where Adriana has lived. An imprinting like this cannot leave you untouched! Every moment of Adriana's life has been immersed in the culture, language and customs of the countries in which she has lived. About 20 years ago, she returned to her father's origins, settling down in Turin, Italy, which she affectionately considers her ultimate home. Here she works as an English teacher and interpreter for various international fairs and training institutions. Her love for Italian traditions and food culture, and her kind and giving nature made Adriana decide to join our team as a tour guide, wanting to take explorers, like herself, by the hand and show them the local culinary wonders.

FAQs
Can I cancel my trip?
If the traveller withdraws before the start of the trip or does not start the trip, Ventura loses the right to the travel price. Instead, Ventura may demand reasonable compensation from the traveller. This shall not apply if Ventura is responsible for the cancellation or if unavoidable, extraordinary circumstances occur at the destination or in its immediate vicinity, which significantly impair the performance of the package tour or the transport of persons to the destination; circumstances are unavoidable and extraordinary if they are beyond the control of the party invoking them and their consequences could not have been avoided even if all reasonable precautions had been taken.
Ventura has defined this claim for compensation to which it is entitled in the following cancellation fees. The calculation is made taking into account the time of the cancellation declared by the traveller up to the contractually agreed start of the trip, the expected saving of expenses and the expected acquisition through alternative use of the travel services. The compensation shall be calculated as follows according to the time of receipt of the declaration of cancellation by Ventura or the travel agent:
a) General cancellation fee (as a percentage of the travel price):
For bookings in the CLASSIC fare: up to 65 days before departure 20% from the 64th to 30th day before departure 25% 45% from the 29th to 15th day before departure from the 14th to 7th day before departure 60% from the 6th day before departure 80% 90% on the day of departure and in the event of a no-show
For bookings in the FLEXI fare: up to 65 days before departure 0% from the 64th to the 45th day before departure 10% from the 44th to the 30th day before departure 20% from 29 days before departure, the cancellation fees are identical to those of the CLASSIC rate
b) Special cancellation fee:
Special offers/specials, individually prepared package tours and group tours may be subject to special cancellation conditions, to which explicit reference is made in the respective service description or travel advertisement/offer and the travel confirmation in accordance with Art. 250 §§ 3, 6 EGBGB.
Ventura reserves the right to demand higher, specifically calculated compensation instead of the above cancellation flat rates, insofar as Ventura can prove the occurrence of significantly higher expenses than the applicable cancellation flat rate.
Do I need travel insurance?
We advise you to take out travel cancellation insurance, as it can always happen that you are unable to travel shortly before the departure date due to unforeseen illness, an accident or for other reasons. Repatriation assistance insurance is strongly recommended!

What happens if the minimum number of participants is not reached?
According to our terms and conditions, we can cancel the trip if the minimum number of participants is not reached up to 21 days before the start of the trip. As a rule, we will inform you one month in advance to discuss alternatives. You can then, for example, choose another date or an alternative trip. If these options are not suitable for you, we will refund the full travel costs already paid. However, it is rare that a trip cannot be realised. As soon as a trip is guaranteed to take place, we will highlight this on our "Dates & Prices" page.
When should I book my flight or train tickets?
You can start organising and booking your journey as soon as we have confirmed that the trip is guaranteed to take place. This happens at the latest approx. 30 days before the start of the trip. If the minimum number of participants has already been reached, you will of course be informed immediately.
