Welcome to Salina

Welcome Dinner Hotel Signum
Meals Included: Dinner
The beautiful Aeolian Islands are a real jewel off the northern coast of Sicily and offer a spectacular backdrop for your stay. You will be accommodated in the exclusive boutique Hotel Signum on Salina, the greenest of the seven islands.
If desired, we can organize the transfer from Catania airport to Milazzo, as well as the boat to Salina and the taxi to the hotel.
Over dinner in the hotel's excellent restaurant, you will not only get to know your fellow travellers, but also the culinary delicacies of the islands. Enjoy a delicate monkfish salad with a light yogurt-pepper sauce, homemade bucatini with fresh redfish and saffron, or juicy oven-baked grouper with a crust of capers and wild fennel.
On Salina, it is said: Eolo commanda. Aeolus, the ruler of the winds, is in command. Unfortunately, the days we plan for our boat trips do not always correspond to the best weather and wind conditions. It is therefore common for our travel program to have to be adjusted before the start of the trip.
Relax and enjoy every experience, knowing that our tour guide will assist you at every moment.

Trip to Vulcano
Evening Delight with Aeolian Specialty
Hiking on island Vulcano
Cheesemaker Fabrizio
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transportation: By Foot (3:00h)
From the volcano island, you have a special vantage point to admire a fantastic panorama of this UNESCO area
Today, you set out early and make your way to Vulcano. In Roman mythology, the island was seen as the home of the fire god Vulcan. The island's name became synonymous with volcanic structures. The 391-metre-high volcano, which is now in the so-called fumarole stage, was formed in the last 10,000 years. There is hardly any other place where you can observe and understand volcanism as well as here. Your experienced hiking and volcano guide Emanuele, who has lived on Salina for over 20 years, will explain the fascinating formation and development of this young volcano during the hike.
After the hike, you will be expected by cheesemaker Fabrizio Lo Piccolo, who will welcome you for a lunch of his delicious cow and sheep's milk cheeses, famous throughout the Aeolian Islands. You'll then have some time to enjoy a coffee or gelato by the sea before returning to Salina in the late afternoon.
An Aeolian specialty awaits you for dinner today: pane cunzato. (traditional Sicilian dish consisting of a round bread roll filled with ingredients such as fresh tomatoes, anchovies, red onion, oregano, extra virgin olive oil, and salt, often complemented with black olives, capers, or fresh cheese).
Hike to Vulcano:
- ditance: about 8 km
- time: about 3 h

Winegrower Francesco Fenech
Panoramic walk to Praiola
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy a dinner with a magical sunset over the sea
After enjoying breakfast with a view of the sea, you set off on an exciting tour of discovery through the charming town of Malfa. Stroll through the alleys and explore the village centre with its cozy shops and inviting cafés. Take a short break and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The exploration tour takes you to the renowned winemaker Francesco Fenech.
In addition to the famous sweet passito, he also produces outstanding dry white wines from the local Malvasia grape, such as Maddalena, as well as a full-bodied red wine from Nero d'Avola. Particularly unique and a true rarity on the Aeolian Islands is his passito, which is made from the rare Corinto Nero grapes. After tasting these delicious wines and having lunch with local specialties at Francesco’s, treat yourself to a well-deserved break. Use this time to relax by the refreshing pool or unwind in the idyllic location.
In the late afternoon, make your way to Leni, a charming town in the south of the island, about a 15-minute drive away. From there, take a walk along the coast to Praiola and let your gaze wander over the sparkling sea. The breathtaking view will captivate you.
During dinner, prepared for you in a special location, you will experience a spectacular sunset over the sea under clear skies. The gentle sounds of the guitar played by Marcello accompany the romantic mood and create an incomparable atmosphere. Let yourself be enchanted by the culinary delicacies and enjoy this magical moment that inspires your senses. On the way, take a short evening walk with flashlights or by moonlight.

From the volcano Monte Fossa, you have a special vantage point to admire a fantastic panorama of this UNESCO area
Today, the spectacular grand finale of your trip awaits you with a hike to the extinct volcano Monte Fossa delle Felci, which towers majestically over Malfa. Your hike begins in Val di Chiesa, at an altitude of around 300 metres above sea level. The path winds through lush forest as you climb up the mountain. Emanuele will prepare a rustic Aeolian picnic for you before the hike. Near the summit, you can fortify yourself with these regional delicacies before you start the descent. Feel the energy of the surrounding nature and let yourself be carried away by this unique place.
In the evening, an unforgettable farewell dinner awaits you at Signum, prepared with love by Martina and Michele Caruso. Katharina Maria
Your guide for this tour
Katharina Maria Nedela is originally from the Black Forest, but has lived in Italy and Germany for almost 20 years. After studying Italian philology in Potsdam, among other things, she made various stops in Rome, then back to Berlin, Munich and Naples before finally ending up in Sicily. The direction is pretty clear: off to the south! Here she worked in tourism at a desk for a long time until she followed the "call of the road" and now, as a cycling guide, makes Naples and Catania unsafe together with adventurous, bike-loving travelers. As a tour guide, she travels all over southern Italy and looks forward to experiencing culinary and sporting tours and activities together.
The indicated flight times and airlines may change, as we have to plan well in advance of the day of departure.

FAQs
Can I cancel my trip?
If the traveller withdraws before the start of the trip or does not start the trip, Ventura loses the right to the travel price. Instead, Ventura may demand reasonable compensation from the traveller. This shall not apply if Ventura is responsible for the cancellation or if unavoidable, extraordinary circumstances occur at the destination or in its immediate vicinity, which significantly impair the performance of the package tour or the transport of persons to the destination; circumstances are unavoidable and extraordinary if they are beyond the control of the party invoking them and their consequences could not have been avoided even if all reasonable precautions had been taken.
Ventura has defined this claim for compensation to which it is entitled in the following cancellation fees. The calculation is made taking into account the time of the cancellation declared by the traveller up to the contractually agreed start of the trip, the expected saving of expenses and the expected acquisition through alternative use of the travel services. The compensation shall be calculated as follows according to the time of receipt of the declaration of cancellation by Ventura or the travel agent:
a) General cancellation fee (as a percentage of the travel price):
For bookings in the CLASSIC fare: up to 65 days before departure 20% from the 64th to 30th day before departure 25% 45% from the 29th to 15th day before departure from the 14th to 7th day before departure 60% from the 6th day before departure 80% 90% on the day of departure and in the event of a no-show
For bookings in the FLEXI fare: up to 65 days before departure 0% from the 64th to the 45th day before departure 10% from the 44th to the 30th day before departure 20% from 29 days before departure, the cancellation fees are identical to those of the CLASSIC rate
b) Special cancellation fee:
Special offers/specials, individually prepared package tours and group tours may be subject to special cancellation conditions, to which explicit reference is made in the respective service description or travel advertisement/offer and the travel confirmation in accordance with Art. 250 §§ 3, 6 EGBGB.
Ventura reserves the right to demand higher, specifically calculated compensation instead of the above cancellation flat rates, insofar as Ventura can prove the occurrence of significantly higher expenses than the applicable cancellation flat rate.
